Well done to Chirnside Park Under 18 Player David Tickner on just missing out on the final cut of the Victorian Metropolitan Football League Under 19 representative side. Tickner was a standout player for the Eastern Football league representative side earlier this season, with a performance that more than justified his selection in the VMFL Squad. David was also selected as the EFL Under 21 player of the week in ROUND 16 this year!!! And has just won the Chirnside Park Football Club Senior Best & Fairest Award.

Tickner has been a regular in the Panther's Senior side this season and showed no signs of disappointment yesterday with a best on ground performance against the Southern Cobra's.    Well Done David !!!!!!      To gain a further insight into what makes David Tick(ner)!       CONGRATULATIONS TO THE VETERAN'S

No, this is not a belated Anzac Day message, the Chirnside Park Football Club Veteran's side has won the YMDFL Premiership at their first attempt and in their first season in the league!

The veterans side, newly formed for season 2001, went undefeated for the entire season and  were  firm flag favourites. But all that counted for nought to North Croydon who looked like causing an upset well into the last quarter.

Chirnside's flag hopes were not helped by some woeful kicking that saw them not registering a major in the 2nd & 3rd quarters, only scoring 13 minors. North Croydon on the otherhand had half as many scoring shots as the panthers but lead by 8 points well into the last quarter.

With around 8 minutes to play Chirnside finally found the way through the big sticks and kicked four of the last five goals to run out 8 point winners.

BEST PLAYERS: Jason Reuse, Scud, Carl Oates.

David Tickner has capped off a remarkable year by winning the Chirnside Park Football Club Best and Fairest award.
The 17 year old, who was still eligible to play juniors this snuck up on the leader with a fantastic second half of the season in the ruck. Tickner finished on 39 vote (ironically his jumper No), 4 votes clear of Mark Pemberton on 35 votes. Another outstanding junior, Daniel Ferry finished 3rd.
In the Reserves Count, Ryan Tabone continued his strong showing in the second half of the season to record a comfortable win, in his first year back to footy after a four year absence. Dean McHenry finished second.
